PDF Unlocker – Create a PDF Copy Online for Free
The PDF Unlocker tool helps you select a PDF document and attempt to create a downloadable copy. You can upload a regular PDF or a password-protected file and enter a password if required. The tool uses PDF-lib to process the document directly in your browser.
Please note that this implementation cannot decrypt password-protected PDFs. It can create a copy of compatible, unencrypted PDFs, but encrypted files may produce an error.

How to Use the PDF Unlocker
Follow these steps to try creating a PDF copy.
Open the PDF Unlocker tool.
Click Choose File and select a PDF from your device.
Enter the password if the document requires one.
Click Create PDF Copy to start processing.
If the file is supported, the tool will display a download option.
Click Download PDF to save the generated copy.
If the document is encrypted, the tool may display an error because the current implementation does not support PDF decryption.

Important Limitations
The tool uses PDF-lib, which does not provide the password-decryption functionality required to unlock encrypted PDFs. Although the interface includes a password field, the current code does not pass that password to a decryption process.
As a result, entering the correct password will not unlock an encrypted PDF through this implementation. A PDF library that supports decryption and accepts the password is required for that functionality.
For regular, unencrypted PDFs that the library can load, the tool attempts to generate a new copy for download.
Privacy and File Security
The code processes the selected file in your browser and does not include an upload to a dedicated PDF-processing server. However, the PDF-lib library is loaded from an external CDN, so an internet connection is needed to load the library.
For confidential documents, use a trusted browser and device. Never attempt to bypass access restrictions on documents you are not authorized to use.
